Fall under the spell of this Enchanting Cottage
and experience the timeless charm of a turn-of-the-century bungalow located in the heart of Volcano Village on the Big Island of Hawaii and one mile from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The cottage is nestled in a botanical garden setting surrounded by a lush tropical rain forest on nearly three acres. Also tucked in amongst a bamboo and tropical ferns garden but steps away from the cottage is a beautiful Craftsman style pavilion. Bill and Antoinette have lovingly restored one of the village’s oldest “plantation style” homes. His gift for craftsmanship and her passion for afternoon tea have joined to create a special place for romance, relaxation and renewal. Make this intimate and charming setting your own private world.
Memories Recalled and Memories Made
On many occasions guests have shared how the cottage reminds them of family gatherings in a “cabin in the woods” that has been in the family for generations or “grandmother’s house” during childhood visits. Bill and Antoinette have strived to rekindle the spirit of “old Hawaii” where Volcano has always been a place to escape the heat at sea level and the daily hustle of city life. The theme and decor of tea in the cottage is Antoinette’s way of sharing a personal connection and friendship with a pot of tea. It is their wish that your experience will leave you with lasting memories of the cottage, the quaintness of Volcano and a strong desire to return.
The cottage interior is immaculate, bright and vibrant. Beautifully decorated with local art, comfortable furnishings, handmade furniture by Bill, vintage lighting and decor, this small cottage is the perfect size for a couple seeking an intimate and cozy setting. The Jotul gas fireplace warms the cottage completely during those chilly nights that Volcano is noted for at its higher mountain elevation.
Off of the main room are the two bedrooms. The first bedroom features a high quality Queen size four poster bed with mattress pad warmer and premium linens. The second bedroom is furnished with a single bed with a mattress pad warmer in a lovely country motif. This bedroom serves the couple who prefer separate sleeping arrangements.
Enjoy a glass of wine with cheese or a hot cup of tea with cake on the porch while listening to the call of native birds and watching the misty clouds as they gather and pass through the native forest in front of you.
